    FIFA U17: Brazil down Nigeria with a 1-0 win on Independence Day Anniversary

    The Nigeria U17 National Female Team, the Flamingos, on Saturday, the Independence Day Celebration, were beaten 1-0 by Brazil U17 National Female Team at the ongoing Jordan 2016 FIFA U17 Women World Cup.

    In the match that started at around 2:00pm Nigeria time, Brazilian Micaelly gave the Luizao's girls a 1-0 lead advantage in the 42nd minutes of the encounter at King Abudullah II stadium in Amman.

    The flamingos were looking so lively in the first half with a wonderful display from Nigeria duo of Mary-Ann Ezeanagu and Christy Ucheibe as their shots on goal were denied by Brazilian goalkeeper, Kemelli. The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Brazil.

    The 2nd half of the encounter started on a high note with high expectation that Nigeria will comeback into the game, but every efforts put together by the girls were not enough to overpower the lively Brazilian side. Though two changes were made in the second half by both sides but could not make much difference as no goal was recorded in the second half.

    Brazil now top Group C with 3 points after the victory over the flamingos. Other Group C match is already on between England and Korea DPR, still 0-0 at 17 minutes.

    Moreover, another Africa representative, Ghana, were humiliated by Japan with a 5-0 loss.
