    Fresh Ebola outbreak kills 17 in Congo

    Fresh outbreak of Ebola has killed at least 17 people in Congo two years after the disease killed about 11,000 people in West Africa.

    Head of National and Institute for Biological Research in Democratic Republic of Congo, Jean Jack Muyembe, confirmed the news of Tuesday.

    The reoccurrence of the deadly virus that killed 17 in a new outbreak could spring up another problem in West Africa following the death of at least 11,000 people between 2014 and 2016 as a result of the deadly virus.

    In a statement released by World Health Organisation, "this is DRC's ninth outbreak of Ebola since the discovery of the virus in the country in 1976."

    "In the past five weeks, there have been 21 suspected viral haemorrhagic fever in and around the Ilkoko Iponge, including 17 deaths."

    Early symptoms of Ebola virus disease include sore throat, headache, fever fatigue and muscle pain. Others symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, symptoms of impaired kidney and liver function and both internal and external bleeding.
