In today court sitting in South Africa, Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to 6year imprisonment for killing his girl friend, Reeva Steenkamp.
Pistorius was charged for murder of his girl friend, Reeva Steenkamp. Reeva was shot by his boy friend Pistorius on Valentine day in 2013. The 29 years old died after the South Africa Olympic Athlete shot her through a toilet door in his Pretoria home. Though, the double-amputee athlete denies her murder, saying he sees a shadow, he feared an intruder has broken in. Reeva was shot thrice.
In the court today, Oscar has his head bowed listening to the judgement.
As reported by a BBC reporter, acording to the judge, "nothing can diminish the pain suffered by the deceased's family", but the "misperception" that there was an argument between the victim and accused on the night of the killing cannot be ignored, the judge says.
Oscar was sentenced to 6years imprisonment and was matched to the prison by the police.
